Was fourth in team scoring in 2007-08 with 51 points (28-23-51) in 68 games.
If he could invite any three people to dinner he would choose: Wayne Gretzky, Sidney Crosby and Pavel Datsyuk – “to gather further knowledge about the game and ask questions about their success as well as how they got to the NHL”.
His first hockey team was the Milton Winterhawks at the age of five after he started skating on the pond at the age of three. He went on to play Peewee AAA with the Markham Islanders and Bantam and Midget AAA with the Toronto Junior Canadiens.
Patterns his game after Eric Staal – “he is a pure power-forward who can put the puck in the net”.
Credits his parents for having had a lot of influence on his career for always having great advice and standing behind him in everything.
His most memorable hockey moment was representing Canada and winning gold at the 2008 Under-18 IIHF World Championships.
The one movie he would like to be in is Bourne Ultimatum and the one thing he couldn’t live without is hockey.
Outside of hockey he plays the bass guitar and also won five championships in eight years of racing go-karts.
