The Ducks have recalled center Peter Holland from the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, the club has reassigned left wing Patrick Maroon to Norfolk.
Holland, 22 (1/14/91), has appeared in five games with the Ducks this season, registering one goal (1-0=1) with an even plus/minus rating and four penalty minutes (PIM). Selected by Anaheim in the first round (15th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Holland scored his first goal of the season and second of his career in a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Feb. 18 at Honda Center. In 42 games with Norfolk, Holland collected 19-19=38 points with 66 PIM. He led the Admirals in scoring and goals, and ranked second in assists at the time of his recall.
Maroon, 24 (4/23/88), appeared in nine games for Anaheim this season, scoring one goal (1-0=1) with seven PIM. He collected his first career NHL goal on Feb. 16 at Nashville, beating Pekka Rinne for the game-tying goal in a 3-2 shootout win. Recalled from Norfolk on Feb. 13, Maroon has earned 13-17=30 points with 108 PIM in 45 AHL games this season. He returns to the Admirals ranked third among team leaders in points, tied for second in goals and third in assists. Maroon was acquired from Philadelphia with David Laliberte in exchange for Danny Syvret and Rob Bordson on Nov. 21, 2010.
