Perry Suspended Four Games by NHL

Ducks winger Corey Perry was suspended four games for a hit Tuesday night in Minnesota, the NHL announced today.

"Perry delivered a late, illegal check that injured Minnesota forward Jason Zucker, said Rob Blake of the NHL's Department of Player Safety. "In spite of the fact that all players need to be aware of their surroundings, it is perfectly reasonable that Zucker should no longer expect to be hit this long after possession...Perry has enough time to avoid this violent check or, at the very least, minimize it more significantly."

The hit came with 15:39 remaining in the second period of an eventual 2-1 victory for the Ducks over the Wild. Perry was given a five-minute major for interference and a game misconduct.

He will be suspended for Anaheim's games at Dallas on Thursday, at St. Louis on Saturday and at home against San Jose on Monday and Chicago on Wednesday.
