Reinforcements have arrived in Pittsburgh.

That was the story this morning at the Consol Energy Center, as forwards Matt Beleskey and Saku Koivu joined the Ducks for a full practice.

It was a welcome sight for a team depleted by injuries and illness, and currently winless on their four-game road trip (0-2-1) that concludes tomorrow night in Pittsburgh. Every player was on the ice at practice, including Mathieu Perreault, who was scratched from Friday’s game with flu-like symptoms. As of today, the Ducks have 109 man games lost since the start of the season, second only to the Edmonton Oilers (125).

Beleskey has only played in two regular season games this season (last: Oct. 5 at Minnesota) because of a broken thumb, and Koivu has missed the last 10 because of a concussion suffered on October 27 in Columbus. Whether they’ll both be in tomorrow’s lineup remains to be seen, but Beleskey played in three Admirals games this week after being sent down to the American Hockey League on a Long-Term Injury Conditioning Loan. Beleskey recorded a goal and 12 shots in those three games.

Immediately after practice, the team traveled across the Allegheny River to Heinz Field, where they’ll take in the Steelers-Lions game.
