Postgame quotes from goaltender Jonas Hiller following Anaheim's 3-2 shootout victory over the Blackhawks at United Center on December 6.
On coming away with two points
It's just a point in the end, but it's still winning and losing, and winning is definitely more fun. It was nice to have the guys score a couple up front in the shootout, and it was nice to finally win the shootout.
On his third period save on Jonathan Toews
I thought the best one was in OT, on the back door. I thought I had a few good saves there. I wasn't happy with the first goal, but I felt I played a pretty solid period and I think everybody was working hard. That's why, in the end, we deserved to win.
On the frustration with the officials
Sometimes, we've got to be smarter about it. If we're all over the refs all game long, it's tough to get the good calls. At the end, you have nights where those things go against you. Sometimes those things go for you. But as long as you can play solid and not worry too much about it, it's good. I think the penalty kill definitely improved, and that's what makes a difference in the last few games.
On the team’s heavy road schedule thus far
It seems like we've been on the road every week and it’s been rough. If you have success, it's easier to play those road games. We have a tough one coming up tomorrow and then [we’re] back home. We're definitely looking forward to after Christmas. Glad we got them out of the way early.
