Ducks Training Camp 2007

The Ducks opened training camp with a different look than the team that capture its first Stanley Cup title three months ago. Missing from camp are captain Scott Niedermayer and leading goal-scorer Teemu Selanne, both of whom are still contemplating retirement.
But the Ducks still came to camp with veterans Chris Pronger, Andy McDonald, Jean-Sebastien Giguere, third-year stars Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, newcomers Mathieu Schneider and Todd Bertuzzi and a hungry group of rookies looking to make the roster of the defending champions. Everyone will be preparing for the earliest start to the season the Ducks have ever had, as they open in London against the Kings on Sept. 29 and 30.
AnaheimDucks.com is with the Ducks throughout training camp, offering features, photos, audio clips and more.
Day 4 - 9/14/07 Before any of the Ducks had arrived at Anaheim ICE this morning, J.S. Giguere was skating alone and moving very well. He even took a few slap shots with the pucks that were randomly lying around the ice. The rest of the Ducks arrived on the ice and started skating at 9:45 a.m., alternating between the NHL and Olympic rinks. After their scrimmage, the Ducks found out who is playing tomorrow night against the Kings at Staples Center. The Ducks have asked that the lineup not be revealed until game time. George Parros has been skating well since the beginning of camp and he spoke briefly about it after practice today. Todd Marchant also offered some insight into training camp and getting ready for the season. Day 3 - 9/13/07 The Ducks lost to the Kings 5-4 in the preseason opener at Honda Center, and get back on the ice tomorrow morning at Anaheim ICE. Day 2 - 9/12/07
For the second straight day, the Ducks scrimmaged in front of a good crowd at Anaheim ICE. J.S. Giguere and Samuel Pahlsson still did not participate, both recovering from abdominal surgeries.
The Ducks announced their lineup for Thursday night's preseason opener vs. the Kings at Honda Center:
