ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim today announced that Brent Severyn has been named radio color analyst. Severyn will join Steve Carroll in the Mighty Ducks radio broadcast booth for all regular season and playoff games, led by flagship station The Mighty 1090 AM. The Ducks also announced a multi-year extension with Skyview Satellite Networks to serve as the official radio network provider of the Mighty Ducks.

Having worked on both radio and television, the former Mighty Duck brings five years of hockey broadcasting experience with him. He has worked as an analyst with Fox Sports Net in Dallas and the Stars’ radio flagship 1310 AM The Ticket. A native of Vegreville, Alberta, Severyn was a member of the 1997-98 Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, recording 1-3=4 points with 133 penalty minutes (PIM) in 37 games played.

“Brent Severyn’s experience as a broadcaster and player will be a valuable asset to our broadcast team, along with his commitment to the community,” said Mighty Ducks Chief Marketing Officer Bob Wagner. “We are excited to have him back with the club.”

A seven-year NHL veteran, Severyn played 328 games between Quebec, Florida, New York Islanders, Colorado, Anaheim and Dallas, scoring 10-30=40 points with 825 PIM. In 1999, he won the Stanley Cup with the Stars. Severyn was drafted by Winnipeg in the fifth round (99th overall) of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft.

Skyview Satellite currently provides the radio network distribution for 16 other professional franchises, as well as three major universities. It also serves the state news network of California and Arizona.

“We are thrilled to announce an extension of our partnership with Skyview Satellite Networks to serve as the radio network provider,” said Mighty Ducks Director of Broadcasting Aaron Teats.

Founded in 1995, Skyview Satellite Networks is based in Scottsdale, Arizona and focuses on providing radio network solutions to major league sports. For more information visit www.skyviewsatellite.com.

“Skyview Satellite Networks is proud to extend the relationship with a premier franchise like the Mighty Ducks,” said Skyview Satellite Networks President Ken Thiele. “The Ducks will be able to utilize our latest technology to ease the clearance of Ducks hockey and to increase their radio network. We look forward to a strong partnership into the future.”
