Ducks Recall Center Aaron Gavey
The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim announced that club has recalled center Aaron Gavey from the Portland Pirates, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Gavey, 31 (2/22/74), has played in six games with Portland this season, earning 3-0=3 points with 10 penalty minutes. The Sudbury, Ontario, native has appeared in 355 career NHL games with Toronto, Minnesota, Dallas, Calgary and Tampa Bay, posting 41-50=91 points with 270 PIM. Additionally, he has appeared in 19 career NHL playoff games, earning 1-2=3 points.
The 6-2, 189-pound forward was originally drafted by Tampa Bay in the fourth round (74th overall) of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. Gavey earned NHL career highs in goals, assists and points in 2000-2001 as a member of Minnesota’s inaugural team, earning 10-14=24 points in 75 games.
