ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Mighty Ducks announced today that the  club has activated defenseman Sandis Ozolinsh from the league’s injured reserve list and reassigned left wing Chris Kunitz to the Portland Pirates, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, Anaheim recalled goaltender Michael Wall from Portland, giving the club 23 players on its active roster.

A native of Riga, Latvia, Ozolinsh has appeared in seven games this season, scoring 1-1=2 points with six penalty minutes (PIM). The seven-time NHL All-Star has missed two games (Oct. 14-16) with a strained chest muscle and nine games (Oct. 26-Nov. 12) with a fractured rib this season.

The 33-year-old (8/3/72) Ozolinsh was acquired by Anaheim from Florida with Lance Ward in exchange for Matt Cullen, Pavel Trnka and a 2003 fourth round draft choice on January 30, 2003. The 6-3, 217-pound defenseman agreed to a two-year contract with Anaheim on July 29, 2005.

Kunitz, 26 (9/26/79), has appeared in nine NHL games this regular season with both Atlanta and Anaheim, scoring 1-2=3 points with two PIM. The 6-0, 194-pound winger was claimed on waivers by Anaheim on Oct. 18, 2005, after being claimed earlier that month (Oct. 4) by Atlanta. He has played two games with Portland this season, going scoreless.

Kunitz signed with the Mighty Ducks as free agent on April 1, 2003.

Wall, 20 (7/25/85), dressed but did not appear in two games with Anaheim earlier this season following his recall on Oct. 10. He has played in eight games with Portland in 2005-2006, going 4-4-0 with a 3.53 goals-against average and .881 save percentage.

The 6-2, 189-pound native of Telkwa, British Columbia, signed a three-year entry level contract with Anaheim on Sept. 29, 2005.
