WE GIVE THANKS
Over 15,000 Expected to Be Served at the Arrowhead Pond on Thanksgiving Day
ANAHEIM, Calif. – We Give Thanks, Inc., La Casa Garcia Restaurant & The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim Hockey Club are teaming up for a Thanksgiving Day Dinner – hosted this year by the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim.
Several Mighty Ducks players will participate in this year’s event, scheduled from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The team is scheduled to practice that day at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim after returning from a brief two-game road trip in Phoenix (Tuesday) and Dallas (Wednesday).
“We are pleased to be able to assist Frank Garcia of La Casa Garcia Restaurant with this great event, one that is very important to our community,” said Anaheim Arena Management President/CEO and Mighty Ducks Executive Vice President/COO Tim Ryan. “It’s great to see so many people come together to help those less fortunate.”
For the past 19 years, La Casa Garcia Restaurant and We Give Thanks, Inc., a non-profit charitable organization founded by restaurateur Frank Garcia, have been serving free Thanksgiving Dinners to those in need in Orange County. In order to accommodate an estimated crowd of over 15,000, the Arrowhead Pond and Mighty Ducks of Anaheim have joined forces with We Give Thanks, Inc., for this year’s event.
All food and parking is complimentary on Thanksgiving Day. Fans wishing to help with this year’s event can participate by donating non-perishable items (paper goods, plastic table ware, aluminum foil, trays and latex gloves). Monetary donations can also be made in support of the event. All donations (both non-perishable and monetary) can be made at Mighty Ducks home games this Friday, Nov. 18 and Sunday, Nov. 20 on the concourse level behind section 207. Donations can also be dropped off at La Casa Garcia Restaurant through Thanksgiving Day. The restaurant is located at 531 W. Chapman Ave. in Anaheim.
