Ducks Agree to Terms with Ryan Shannon and Nathan Marsters
Shannon, 22 (3/3/83), has played in 14 games with Portland this season, scoring 8-8=16 points with a +8 rating. The Darien, Conn., native is second on the Pirates in goals and third on the team in points. Shannon was named the RBK Hockey/AHL Rookie of the Month for October after collecting 7-5=12 points in eight games.
In four seasons at Boston College, Shannon played 154 games and scored 51-99=150 points. In 2004-05, he was second in scoring on the Hockey East Champion Golden Eagles and led the team in assists, tallying 14-31=45 points in 38 games.
Marsters, 25 (4/25/85), has played nine games for Portland this season, posting a record of 7-0-0 with a 1.91 goals-against average (GAA) and .937 save percentage (SV%). The Burlington, Ontario native ranks second in the AHL in SV% and fourth in GAA.
In 2004-05 with the Louisiana IceGators of the ECHL, he played in 54 games posting a 13-30-4 record and a 3.51 GAA and a .901 SV%. Marsters was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the fifth round (165th overall) of the 2000 Entry Draft.
