Ducks Reassign Konopka to Portland

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned center Zenon Konopka to the Portland Pirates, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Konopka, 25 (1/2/81), played in 17 games, collecting 3-3=6 points after being recalled from Portland on Nov. 23. The Niagra Lake, Ontario native has played a total of 22 games with the Ducks this season, recording 4-3=7 points and 48 penalty minutes.
Konopka has played in 13 games with Portland this season, earning 7-10=17 points with 21 PIM and a +6 rating. At the time of his recall, he was second on Portland in scoring. The 6-1, 213-pound forward agreed to terms on a two-year contract with Anaheim on Sept. 1, 2004.
