Ducks Acquire Skinner, 2nd Round Pick from Vancouver for Carney and Alen
A 6-1, 195-pound blueliner, Skinner has appeared in 50 games with Manitoba of the American Hockey League this season, earning 3-18=21 points with 31 penalty minutes. He previously appeared in three seasons at the University of Denver, earning 15-72=87 points in 124 career Western Collegiate Hockey Association games.
A native of Brandon, Manitoba, Skinner was drafted by Vancouver in the third round (68th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
Carney was acquired from Phoenix in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft on June 19, 2001. In 14 NHL seasons, he has played in 859 career games, recording 40-158=198 points and 760 PIM. Carney has played 271 games with Anaheim, scoring 13-48=61 points and 185 PIM. He was originally drafted by Buffalo in the fourth round (76th overall) of the 1988 NHL Entry Draft.
Alen, 24 (10/25/81), has appeared in 48 games this season with Ilves Tampere of the Finnish Elite League, scoring 5-5=10 points with 102 penalty minutes. He was drafted by Anaheim in the third round (90th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
