DALLAS (AP) - Sergei Zubov and Niko Kapanen scored power-play goals in the second period and the Dallas Stars moved closer to clinching the Pacific Division title with a 2-1 win Wednesday night over the second-place Anaheim Mighty Ducks.

With 10 games left in the regular season, the Stars have 101 points. They are four points behind Western Conference-leading Detroit, but 15 ahead of Anaheim in the division.

Marty Turco had 15 saves in his NHL-best 39th win, extending the team record he set in a 3-2 victory over Calgary on Sunday. He has allowed two goals of less in eight of his last nine games.

Kapanen's 11th goal was the tiebreaker, a one-timer from the top of the left circle with 2:55 left in the second period. The puck ricocheted off the right side of Jean-Sebastien Giguere and through the small gap between the goalie and left post.

Giguere stopped 27 shots in only his second loss in his last eight starts - a stretch in which he has stopped 189 of 205 shots for a .922 save percentage.

Mike Modano assisted on both goals, including the last pass to Zubov for the goal that made it 1-0. Zubov's 12th was a wrister from the blue line that had plenty of punch even though he took a step back when making the shot with 12:23 left in second period.

Anaheim tied the game less than a minute later on Ryan Getzlaf's 11th goal, a deflection of Sean O'Donnell's shot from the left side that slipped through two sets of skates and past Turco.

The Mighty Ducks have lost two in a row after a season-high six-game winning streak, having dropped a 4-3 decision at Colorado on Tuesday night. Anaheim still has 10 wins this month, tying the club record for wins in any calendar month.

Dallas and the Mighty Ducks play again Friday night in Anaheim.

The Stars started a stretch of seven straight games against Pacific Division opponents. The game Wednesday night was the first of three games against Anaheim in nine days, the last April 6, also in Anaheim.

After tonight's game, the Ducks and Stars will play again on Friday at 7:30 PM at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim.
