ANAHEIM, Calif– Samuel Pahlsson and Teemu Selanne each tallied twice to lead the Ducks over the Vancouver Canucks 6-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim.

The victory gave the Ducks 90 points on the season and moved Anaheim into sole possession of fifth place in the Western Conference playoff race.  The win was the Ducks' 24th at the Arrowhead Pond this season - a new franchise record.

Todd Bertuzzi (23, Naslund, Carney) got the Canucks on the board first in the contest at 8:54 of the first period with Vancouver on the power play.

Selanne (35, McDonald, S. Niedermayer) and Pahlsson (8, R. Niedermayer, Hedstrom) answered for the Ducks with goals 12 seconds apart in the first period.

Francois Beauchemin (8, Fedoruk, Getzlaf) opened up a three-goal second period when the rookie defenseman rifled a slap shot by Auld from the top of the left face-off circle to give the Ducks a 3-1 lead at 3:36.

Getzlaf (13, R. Niedermayer, S. Niedermayer) scored on the power play at 9:56 of the second to put the Ducks on top 4-1. Playing the point position on the power play, Getzlaf whistled a slap shot that was deflected by the Vancouver defense and past Auld.

The goal knocked the Canucks netminder from the game. Auld was replaced by Mika Noronen at the 9:56 mark of the second period.

Pahlsson (9, Hedstrom, Beauchemin) closed the second period scoring with his second goal of the game at 12:00. Pahlsson buried a one-timer past Noronen’s glove off a drop pass from linemate Jonathan Hedstrom. The goal gave Pahlsson his second two-goal game of his career and gave the Ducks a 5-1 lead after two periods.
