McKee Added to Team USA\'s World Championship Roster
ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim announced today that goaltender David McKee has been added to Team USA’s roster for the remainder of the 2006 World Championship Ice Hockey Tournament in Riga, Latvia.

McKee, 22 (6/5/83), played three seasons with Cornell University of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC), where he was a Hobey Baker Finalist and the Ivy League Player of the Year in 2005. This season, he earned a 22-9-4 record with a 2.08 goals-against-average (GAA) and .910 save percentage (SV%), helping the Big Red to the 2006 Men’s Frozen Four Tournament. Cornell fell to Wisconsin in the second round, despite McKee’s career-high 59 saves in the 1-0 game (3 OT).

A 6-1, 185-pound netminder, McKee earned a career record of 65-24-13 at Cornell with a .926 SV% , 1.71 GAA and 18 shutouts. His 102 consecutive starts shattered the former school record of 56 by a goalie. McKee’s 18 career shutouts also set a Cornell mark, breaking the school record held by NHL Hall of Famer Ken Dryden and the ECAC record held by Dryden and three others.

The Irving, Texas, native was named ECAC Co-Rookie of the Year, honorable mention All-ECAC and second team All-Ivy League as a freshman following the 2003-2004 season.

McKee joins Team USA goaltenders Craig Anderson (Park Ridge, Ill./Chicago Blackhawks) and Jason Bacashihua (Garden City, Mich./St. Louis Blues), and will be making his first appearance for a U.S. national team. Team USA faces the Czech Republic tomorrow (May 16) at 5:15 a.m. PST in the final qualification-round game for both teams. The club has already qualified for the quarterfinal round, with a record of 3-2-0.

McKee signed a two-year entry level contract with Anaheim on April 1, 2006.
