Ducks Sign Chistov to Two-Year Contract
ANAHEIM, Calif.- The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has re-signed left wing Stanislav Chistov to a two-year contract. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.
Chistov, 23 (4/17/83), has appeared in two NHL seasons. The 5-10, 200-pound forward earned 12-18=30 points in 79 games as a 19-year-old rookie in 2002-2003. He helped the Ducks advance to the 2003 Stanley Cup Finals, adding 4-2=6 points in 21 playoff games. Chistov collected 2-16=18 points in 56 games for Anaheim during the 2003-2004 season.
A native of Chelyabinsk, Russia, Chistov played in the Russian Super League last year. He earned 11-21=32 points in 47 games with Metallurg Magnitogorsk, helping that team to the league's best regular season record.
He was drafted by Anaheim in the first round (5th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
