Ducks 4, Stars 1

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Corey Perry tallied twice to lead the Ducks over the Dallas Stars 4-1 on Wednesday night at Honda Center.

The victory pushed Anaheim's league-best record to 27-4-6 and 60 standings points. The Ducks finish 2006 with a 15-2-4 record on Honda Center ice with the next five games scheduled to take place away from Orange County.

Perry netted his second goal just 13 seconds into the second period.

The young Anaheim winger was robbed on a scoring chance by Dallas netminder Marty Turco eight seconds into the period. On the ensuing face off, Perry grabbed the loose puck in the slot, turned and fired a wrist shot into the top right-hand corner for his second goal of the game.

The Ducks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Chris Pronger and Perry.

Pronger tallied his seventh goal of the season with a hard slap shot from the point that found its way through traffic and past Turco at 3:22.

Perry made it 2-0 with a slap shot from the top of the right face off circle at 11:38. The goal was Perry's tenth of the season.

The Stars cut into the Anaheim lead at 14:41 of the first period on a goal by Stu Barnes. Barnes deflected a soft wrist shot by defenseman Jaroslav Modry for his fourth marker of the season.

After Perry's second tally to begin the second period, Scott Niedermayer added a power play goal at 16:39 of the second to give Anaheim a 4-1 lead.

Anaheim does not return to Honda Center until January 5 to face the Columbus Blue Jackets.
