Ducks Sign O'Donnell and Huskins; Trade Shannon and Brent
The Ducks announced today that they have signed defensemen Sean O'Donnell and Kent Huskins to two-year contract extensions. Per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed.
O'Donnell was acquired from Phoenix in exchange for Joel Perrault on March 9, 2006. He was originally drafted by Buffalo in the sixth round (123rd overall) of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft.
Huskins, 27 (5/4/79), made his NHL debut and appeared in 33 games with the Ducks in 2006-07, scoring 0-3=3 points with 14 PIM. Huskins played in 21 Stanley Cup playoff games and scored 0-1=1 point with 11 PIM and a +4 rating. In 39 games with Portland of the American Hockey League (AHL) this past season, Huskins scored 3-12=15 points.
Huskins signed as a free agent on Aug. 22, 2005. He was originally drafted by Chicago in the sixth round (156th overall) of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
