Ducks Weekly Report

The Ducks open a three-game Canadian road trip against the Vancouver Canucks this evening at GM Place...the Ducks enter tonight's game having won five of their last seven games and seven of their last 11 dating back to Nov. 1...this is the first of four meetings between the Ducks and Canucks this season...Anaheim posted a 3-0-1 record against Vancouver last year, including a 2-0 mark at GM Place...in the two games played in Vancouver, the Ducks outscored the Canucks, 8-1...these two teams last met in the 2007 Western Conference Semifinals, which the Ducks won four games to one en route to a Stanley Cup championship... following tonight's game, the Ducks will travel to Calgary to take on the Flames this Thursday at Pengrowth Saddledome.

NOTABLES: The Ducks have picked up 17 of a possible 24 standings points in the last 12 games and are currently second in the Pacific Division, four points behind the first-place Dallas Stars...on the road, the Ducks have won three of their last four games…center Ryan Getzlaf (6-6=12) enters tonight's game on career-high eight-game point streak (previous high: five games) while right wing Todd Bertuzzi is riding a season-high two-game point streak (0-3=3).

YOUTH MOVEMENT:
Center Ryan Getzlaf and right wing Cory Perry rank among the NHL's leading scorers aged 22 and younger this season...currently Getzlaf (25 points) and Perry (19 points) rank tied for fifth and ninth on the list, respectively...Sidney Crosby sits atop the list with 33 points.

BIG MAC:  Ducks center Andy McDonald has played in all 24 games this season, stretching his "Iron Man" streak to 267 consecutive games played overall...McDonald is only eight games shy of tying Samuel Pahlsson for the club all-time record for consecutive games played (275)...should he play in Anaheim’s next nine games, McDonald will break Pahlsson’s team record on Dec. 12 vs. Vancouver at Honda Center.

STAR STRUCK: Five players from the defending Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks are on the ballot in the XM/NHL All-Star Fan Vote, which can be found at NHL.com...the Ducks are represented by goaltender J.S. Giguere, defensemen Chris Pronger and Francois Beauchemin, and forwards Andy McDonald and Ryan Getzlaf...Anaheim is one of five teams with a Western Conference-leading five players on the ballot...from Nov. 13-Jan. 2, fans around the world can “Vote Now, Vote Often” online at NHL.com to select the starting lineups for the 2008 NHL All-Star Game in Atlanta...in addition, U.S. fans also can cast votes through Verizon Wireless cell phones.
