Ducks Recall Ryan; Reassign Two
The Ducks announced today that they have recalled right wing Bobby Ryan from the Portland Pirates, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

The Ducks also reassigned center Geoff Platt and defenseman Bruno St. Jacques to the Portland Pirates, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Ryan, 20 (3/17/87), scored 10-14=24 points with a +6 rating and six penalty minutes (PIM) in 25 games with the Pirates this season. At the time of his recall, he led Portland in plus/minus (+6), was tied for the team lead in power play goals and ranked second in goals and points. He recorded seven multiple-point games, including a season-high 2-1=3 point contest on Nov. 17 at Worcester.  That Nov. 17 game sparked an 11-game stretch that produced 7-6=13 points for Ryan prior to his Anaheim promotion.

Originally selected by Anaheim in the first round (second overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Ryan began the 2007-08 regular season with the Ducks. He appeared in four games with Anaheim from Sept. 29-Oct. 5, scoring 1-0=1 point before being assigned to Portland on Oct. 6

A native of Cherry Hill, NJ, Ryan led Owen Sound of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in scoring for the second consecutive season in 2006-07.  In 63 games with the Attack, Ryan had 43-49=102 points, finishing eighth in OHL scoring and fourth in power play goals.

Platt, 22 (7/10/85), was scoreless with a +2 rating and two penalty minutes (PIM) in five games with the Ducks. Recalled from Portland on Dec. 3, Platt has earned 7-9=16 points with a +6 rating and six PIM in nine games with the Pirates this season. He began the season with Syracuse (Blue Jackets’ AHL affiliate) and has recorded 11-12=23 points with a +5 rating and 12 PIM in 24 AHL games between the Pirates and Crunch.

Acquired from Columbus in exchange for defenseman Aaron Rome and left wing Clay Wilson on Nov. 15, 2007, Platt has appeared in 46 career NHL games, earning 4-10=14 points with 28 PIM.  He spent the majority of last season in Syracuse, where he led the club in goals and finished third in points (28-21=49).

St. Jacques, 27 (8/22/80), did not appear in a game with the Ducks after being signed and recalled from Portland on Dec. 10.  He has played in 12 games with Portland this season, recording 1-4=5 points.  He has also appeared in 13 contests for Syracuse, collecting 0-8=8 assists with 16 PIM.  In total, St. Jacques has earned 1-12=13 points with 22 PIM in 25 AHL contests this season.

A native of Montreal, Quebec, St. Jacques has played in 67 career NHL games with Carolina, Philadelphia and Anaheim over four seasons, scoring 3-7=10 points with 47 PIM.  St. Jacques appeared in one NHL contest for Anaheim during the 2005-06 season, earning 1-0=1 point.
