Riding alongside the Stanley Cup, Ducks left wing Brad May was the featured rider on the City of Anaheim’s 2008 Rose Parade float on New Year’s Day. It was the first time in the 119-year history of the Rose Parade that the Stanley Cup appeared in the parade, coinciding with the first time a California hockey team has won the coveted trophy. Titled “Anaheim, the World’s Celebration Destination”, the float was the only entry from Orange County.

The pairing of the Ducks’ Stanley Cup victory with the City’s float theme reinforced the unrivaled, world-class attractions that draw people to Anaheim to celebrate year after year.

May, currently on injured reserve with a broken right foot, is in his second season with the Ducks and his 16th season overall in the NHL. After being acquired by Colorado on Feb. 27, 2007, May was an integral part in capturing both his and the Ducks’ first Stanley Cup championship this past June. In his career, May has appeared in 911 NHL games and 82 playoff games.

The 119th Rose Parade themed Passport to the World's Celebrations, took place on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. (PST) featuring spirited marching bands from throughout the nation, majestic floral floats, and high-stepping equestrian units.
