Bodie Recalled, Miller & Mikkelson Sent Down
The Anaheim Ducks announced on Wednesday that they have recalled right wing Troy Bodie from the Iowa Chops, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, the Ducks have reassigned left wing Drew Miller and defenseman Brendan Mikkelson to Iowa.

Bodie, 24 (1/25/85), has appeared in three games with Anaheim this season, going scoreless. Originally recalled from Iowa on Jan. 15, Bodie made his NHL debut on Jan. 16 at Pittsburgh, recording 6:44 TOI. With Iowa, he has collected 11-10=21 points with 92 penalty minutes (PIM) in 57 games. Among team leaders, Bodie ranked fourth in goals and appearances, and third in PIM.

Signed as a free agent on July 22, 2008, Bodie has appeared in 139 career AHL games, earning 20-17=37 points with 229 PIM. The 6-4, 215-pound winger spent last season with Springfield (AHL), recording 9-6=15 points in 62 contests. He logged 108 PIM with the Falcons, finishing third on the team. Originally selected by Edmonton in the ninth round (278th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Bodie made his professional debut in 2006-07, splitting the season with Stockton (ECHL) and Hamilton (AHL).

Miller, 25 (2/17/84), has scored 1-5=6 points with 13 PIM in 15 games with the Ducks this season. A 2009 PlanetUSA AHL All-Star, Miller has appeared in 46 games with the Chops in 2008-09, collecting 21-13=34 points with 10 PIM. He currently leads Iowa in goals, power play goals (7) and shorthanded goals (3), and ranks second in points.

Selected in the sixth round (186th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Miller appeared in 26 games with the Ducks last season, scoring 2-3=5 points with six PIM. He made his regular season NHL debut on Oct. 6, 2007 at Pittsburgh and scored his first career NHL goal in a 3-1 Anaheim victory on Oct. 17 vs. Nashville. Miller spent the rest of 2007-08 with Anaheim’s then-AHL affiliate in Portland, collecting 16-20=36 points with 12 PIM in 31 games. The 6-2, 185-pound winger also scored 1-7=8 points with 12 PIM in 16 Calder Cup Playoff games, helping the Pirates to an AHL Eastern Conference Finals appearance.

Mikkelson, 21 (6/22/87), has scored 0-1=1 point with 15 PIM in 22 games with the Ducks this season. He made his NHL debut on Jan. 2 vs. Philadelphia and earned his first career NHL point with an assist in a 4-3 victory on Jan. 31 at Colorado. Mikkelson has also appeared in 27 games with Iowa, collecting 1-7=8 points with 12 PIM.

Selected in the second round (31st overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Mikkelson played his first professional season with Portland last year, collecting 6-10=16 points in 66 regular season games. The 6-3, 210-pound blue-liner helped the Pirates to a 2008 AHL Eastern Conference Finals appearance, earning 2-6=8 points in 14 Calder Cup Playoff games.
