It was busy day for Getzlaf on Wednesday with stops at NHL Network, CBC, Sports Illustrated, USA Today, ESPN.com, ESPN America and Associated Press among others. He then made his way to Flushing Meadows to take in some tennis at the U.S. Open. Getzlaf returns to Orange County on Thursday to prepare for Training Camp, which opens at The Rinks - Anaheim ICE on Sunday.
On Getzlaf first day of the tour, he visited John's Pizza on 44th Street. In addition to trying some authentic New York pizza, he had the opportunity to create his own pizza. With guidance from the kitchen staff at John's, Getzlaf successfully made his own margherita pizza, which was promptly delivered to his table fresh from the oven.
"It's nice to do some of the media and stuff," Getzlaf said. "Being out west, we don't get to do that too often."

Getzlaf also got the added bonus of going to Yankee Stadium Monday night to see the Yankees take the nightcap of a doubleheader against the Tampa Rays. In all, six NHL players took advantage of that opportunity, enjoying the sights and sounds of Yankee Stadium on the unofficial last night of the summer season.
