Ducks Reassign Pogge
The Ducks have reassigned goaltender Justin Pogge to the Bakersfield Condors, Anaheim’s development affiliate in the ECHL.

Pogge, 23 (4/22/86), did not make an appearance for Anaheim following his Oct. 26 recall from Bakersfield, which came after Jean-Sebastien Giguere was placed on injured reserve with a strained groin.

Pogge has appeared in four contests with the Condors this season, posting a 2-1-0 record with a 2.10 goals-against average (GAA) and .923 save percentage (SV%). Pogge recorded a shutout in Bakersfield’s season opener, stopping all 15 shots he faced in a 5-0 victory on Oct. 16 vs. Ontario. At the time of his recall, Pogge ranked 10th among ECHL goaltenders in GAA, tied for 10th in SV%, tied for sixth in wins and tied for first in shutouts (1). He was originally recalled from Bakersfield on Oct. 21 and reassigned back to the Condors later that day.

A native of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Pogge spent his rookie NHL season with Toronto in 2008-09, posting a 1-4-1 record with a 4.36 GAA and .844 SV% in seven appearances. In his NHL debut, he stopped 19-of-21 shots in a 6-2 Toronto win on Dec. 22, 2008 at Atlanta. With the victory, Pogge became the first Toronto goaltender to start and win in his NHL debut since Mar. 22, 1991 (Damian Rhodes at Detroit). The 6-4, 202-pound goaltender spent the rest of the season with the Maple Leafs’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, going 26-21-5 with a 2.70 GAA and .895 SV% in 53 appearances.

Originally selected by Toronto in the third round (90th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Pogge made his professional debut with the Marlies in 2006-07. In three AHL seasons with Toronto from 2006-09, Pogge went 71-56-11 with seven shutouts, a 2.71 GAA and .899 SV% in 142 career appearances. He was acquired by Anaheim from Toronto in exchange for a conditional selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft on Aug. 10, 2009.
