After a lengthy homestand, the Ducks are out on a four-game, six-day road swing through the eastern part of the country. All four stops on the trek feature playoff teams from last season.

Here is a closer look at the trip:


Wednesday

Road Trip Starts with 3-1 Loss
Corey Perry scored his 12th goal of the season and extended his point streak to a career-high nine games, but Anaheim could not muster any other offense in a 3-1 defeat at New Jersey. Recap | Photos

About the state of New Jersey
Known as "The Garden State," New Jersey is home to more than 9,800 farms covering 790,000 acres. It was the first state to sign the Bill of Rights. The first organized baseball game was played in the city of Hoboken in 1846 and the first professional basketball game was played in the city of Trenton in 1896. The state is one of only two in the United States (along with Oregon) where self-service filling of gas is prohibited.

Ducks Earn One Point, Fall in Shootout
Bobby Ryan and Todd Marchant tallied goals in regulation, but the Ducks came up short in a 3-2 shootout loss at Columbus. Ryan Getzlaf (two assists) and Corey Perry (one assist) each extended their scoring streaks to a league-high 10 games in the defeat. Recap | Photos

It is known as “The Arch City” because of the dozens of metal (formerly wooden) arches that span the city.

Ducks Outgunned in Detroit
Anaheim tied the game three times in the third period, but they could never take a lead and fell 7-4 in Detroit. Ryan Getzlaf (one goal, three assists) and Corey Perry (one goal, one assist) extended their league-high scoring streaks to 11 games in the loss. Recap | Photos

About the city of Detroit
Nicknamed “The Motor City,” Detroit is the center of the American automobile industry. Road Trip Closes with Loss
The Ducks trailed for most of the game in a 5-2 loss to the defending Stanley Cup champion Penguins at Mellon Arena. The defeat closed a disappointing road trip for Anaheim, which went 0-3-1 in the four-game trip. A high note during the game was Corey Perry extending his career-high points streak to 12 games. About the city of Pittsburgh
