Not long after he helped the Ducks defeat the visiting Chicago Blackhawks 3-0 at Honda Center, George Parros took part in the launch of his new ‘Stache Gear apparel line Friday at the Anaheim Ducks Team Store.

Parros joined a long line of Ducks fans in celebration of his original line of hats and t-shirts for both men and women. All proceeds from the ‘Stache Gear line will benefit two charities close to Parros’ heart: the Childhood Leukemia Foundation and Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids.

The Ducks and Parros have generated $7,500 in sales since Friday afternoon from the ‘Stache Gear line. Due to high demand, the club will be re-ordering additional ‘Stache Gear products, which will remain available at the Anaheim Ducks Team Store through the holidays.

“I thought incorporating a mustache design into my new line of hats and t-shirts would be a light-hearted and fun way to raise funds for my two favorite nonprofits,” said Parros. “I would like to thank the Ducks for their support in this charitable cause.”

The ‘Stache Gear line consists of two t-shirt designs for men, two t-shirt designs for women and two unisex hat designs. Each individual piece includes George’s signature mustache as the line’s logo. All items from the apparel line will retail exclusively in the Ducks Team Store for $25 each and will be available for purchase at the Team Store beginning on Friday at 11:30 a.m. for all ticketed fans to the Ducks-Blackhawks game. George will then join ticketed fans post-game to pose for photos and sign autographs. ‘Stache Gear will be available for purchase to the general public on Saturday, Nov. 28 when the Team Store opens at 10 a.m.

“We’re thankful to George for coming to us with this philanthropic idea,” said Ducks Director of Marketing Tracie Jones. “We hope fans find the clothing line perfect for holiday shopping that benefits a great cause.”

All proceeds from ‘Stache Gear will benefit the Childhood Leukemia Foundation (CLF) and Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation. CLF is also the beneficiary of “George Parros Cut for the Kids,” with the third annual such event set for Monday, Dec. 14. CLF is a national nonprofit organization that offers a wide range of services at no charge to children living with cancer and their families. Their goal is to make sure children battling cancer know they are not alone. Teammates for Kids was established in 1999 as a nonprofit corporation by co-founders Garth Brooks and Bo Mitchell. The purpose of the Foundation is to contribute financial resources to selected nonprofit organizations that effectively serve and benefit children with an emphasis on health, education and inner-city services.
