The Ducks have recalled goaltender Joey MacDonald from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL) and reassigned goaltender J.P. Levasseur to the Springfield Falcons (AHL).

MacDonald, 30 (2/7/80), has split the 2009-10 season with the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Marlies. In six contests with the Maple Leafs, MacDonald went 1-4-0 with a 3.20 goals-against average (GAA) and .892 save percentage (SV%). He shared a 3-0 shutout with Jonas Gustavsson on Dec. 1 at Montreal, turning away all 18 shots he faced. In 36 contests with the Marlies this season, MacDonald posted a 14-19-7 record with a 3.18 GAA and .893 SV%. The 6-0, 197-pound netminder recorded a pair of shutouts with the Marlies, including Mar. 12 at Chicago (40 shots) and Oct. 20 vs. Adirondack (19 shots).

Acquired from Toronto in exchange for a seventh-round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, MacDonald has appeared in 72 NHL contests with Detroit, Boston, NY Islanders and Toronto, going 18-38-9 with a 3.30 GAA and .900 SV%. Levasseur, 23 (1/15/87), did not make an appearance with Anaheim following his recall from Springfield on Mar. 30. He has appeared in 25 contests with Springfield this season, posting an 8-16-1 record with a 3.59 goals-against average (GAA) and .896 save percentage (SV%). He recorded one shutout with the Falcons, stopping all 49 shots he faced in a 4-0 triumph over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Feb. 14. A native of Victoriaville, Quebec, Levasseur recorded a 2.25 GAA and .925 SV% over a seven-game span with Springfield from Jan. 13-29, in which he won five of those seven contests (5-2-0). The 6-0, 199-pound netminder also appeared in five contests with Bakersfield of the ECHL (2-3-0, 3.63 GAA, .903 SV%) and 16 games with Laredo of the Central Hockey League (10-3-3, 2.31 GAA, .919 SV%) this season.

Selected by Anaheim in the seventh round (197th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Levasseur appeared in 41 contests last season with the Iowa Chops, Anaheim’s then-affiliate in the AHL. He went 13-18-4 with a 3.11 GAA and .890 SV%. In 76 career AHL contests, Levasseur has gone 25-39-6 with a 3.19 GAA and .892 SV%.
