Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller (back spasms) and center Ryan Getzlaf (sprained ankle) will both be out of the lineup tonight when the Ducks take on the Kings at Honda Center.

Hiller hasn't played since March 24 at Vancouver. He was supposed to get the start in net against the Stars four nights later, but experienced back spasms during the warm-up. Backup Curtis McElhinney will make his sixth straight start tonight in his absence.

“We will probably wait another day,” Ducks head coach Randy Carlyle said. ”I don’t think it would be fair to put him in the net in the situation we’ve been presented with the one day of practice. Yesterday was the first day that he worked and today’s another day that he worked.”

Getzlaf was also injured during the road game against the Canucks, when he aggravated his ankle sprain originally hurt on Feb. 8 against the Kings at Honda Center. This is the third separate occasion the center has missed time since then.

“We’ve just been kind of going at it a day at a time and hoping that things were going to get better,” Getzlaf said. “And when they do, I guess we’ll be back in the lineup. There hasn’t been any real indication of us shutting things down by any means.”

“I always want to get back in the lineup. I always want to play. It’s tough watching the guys go through what they’re going through and working as hard as they are and not being a part of it."
