Ducks defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky suffered a right hand fracture during the third period of last night’s contest vs. Los Angeles and will miss the final three games of the 2009-10 regular season. Visnovsky will have surgery to repair the hand on Friday, performed by Dr. Steve Shin at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. Recovery time will be 6 weeks.
Visnovsky was acquired by the Ducks from Edmonton on March 3 for defenseman Ryan Whitney and a sixth-round selection in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. In 16 games with Anaheim, the 33-year-old Visnovsky had five goals and 13 points.
