Oystrick Reassigned to Chicago

Oystrick, 27 (12/17/82), appeared in three games for the Ducks following his March 31 recall from the Wolves, going scoreless with two penalty minutes (PIM). Acquired from Atlanta in exchange for right wing Evgeny Artyukhin on March 1, Oystrick began the season with the Wolves, collecting 7-16=23 points with a +5 rating and 96 PIM in 43 games. Among team defensemen, Oystrick currently ranks second in goals and third in points and assists. The 6-0, 205-pound defenseman also ranks second on the Wolves in PIM.
Originally selected by Atlanta in the seventh round (198th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Oystrick made his NHL debut with the Thrashers in 2008-09. In 56 career NHL games with Anaheim and Atlanta, Oystrick has earned 4-8=12 points with 52 PIM. He appeared in his first NHL contest on Oct. 14 vs. Minnesota, earned his first NHL point (assist) on Nov. 25 at Toronto and scored his first NHL goal on Nov. 26 at Washington.
A native of Regina, Saskatchewan, Oystrick has appeared in four AHL seasons with Chicago, collecting 37-77=114 points with a +30 rating and 317 PIM in 205 career games. He has also added 3-14=17 points in 39 AHL Playoff games, helping lead the Wolves to the 2008 Calder Cup.
