Wagner, 19 (5/27/91), collected 34-49=83 points with 70 penalty minutes (PIM) in 44 games with South Shore last season. Wagner was named the EJHL’s Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year after captaining his team to the Southern Division championship, matching the league’s single-season scoring record and leading the league in goals and assists. The 6-0, 200-pound right wing made his debut with South Shore in 2008-09, earning 20-14=34 points with 72 PIM in 38 games.
Brown, 25 (6/24/85), collected 6-1=7 points with a +1 rating and 106 PIM in 75 games with the Ducks last season. Acquired from Vancouver in exchange for defenseman Nathan McIver on Feb. 4, 2009, Brown ranked fifth on the Ducks in appearances, fourth in PIM, sixth in hits (124) and tied for sixth in game-winning goals (2) in 2009-10.
"Neither him nor George (Parros) can play left wing," Ducks Executive VP/GM Bob Murray said. "We have some right-hand shots and a log jam there. I want George to play. This makes George play."
A native of Northbrook, Ill., Brown has played three NHL seasons with Anaheim (2009-10) and Vancouver (2007-09). In 142 career NHL games, the 5-11, 201-pound right wing has scored 9-3=12 points with 306 PIM. He has also added 0-2=2 points with 25 PIM in 13 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
