The Ducks have acquired left wing Tomas Zaborsky from the New York Rangers in exchange for left wing Matt McCue.

Zaborsky, 22 (11/14/87), spent the 2009-10 season with Assat Pori of the Finnish Elite League, collecting 9-17=26 points with 67 penalty minutes (PIM) in 43 games. Zaborsky split the 2008-09 campaign with Hartford of the American Hockey League (AHL) along with Charlotte and Dayton of the ECHL, scoring 15-16=31 points with a +7 rating and 30 PIM in 55 combined games.

Originally selected by the Rangers in the fifth round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Zaborsky made his professional debut with Hartford in 2007-08, earning 0-1=1 point in two games. The Bystrica, Slovakia native played two seasons with Saginaw of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) from 2006-08, recording 50-63=113 points with a +34 rating and 60 PIM in 127 games. He also added 3-3=6 points with six PIM in 10 career OHL Playoff games. In 2007, the 6-1, 194-pound left wing represented his country at the IIHF World Junior Championship in Sweden, picking up 1-2=3 points and four PIM in six games.

McCue, 22 (7/5/88), appeared in 10 games with the Manitoba Moose (AHL) last season, earning 1-0=1 point with 24 PIM. He spent the rest of the season in the ECHL with the Bakersfield Condors, collecting 0-2=2 points with 68 PIM in 19 games. Signed as a free agent on Dec. 30, 2008, McCue played six WHL seasons with Spokane (2003-07), Chilliwack (2006-08), Brandon (2007-09) and Medicine Hat (2008-09). In 247 career WHL games, McCue scored 15-48=63 points with 625 PIM.
