The Ducks kicked off the 2010-11 season by hosting the Anaheim Ducks Golf Classic presented by Honda on September 15th at Oak Creek Golf Club. The tournament featured the Anaheim Ducks players as the “fifth” player participating in sponsor foursomes for a round of golf alongside Ducks fans and supporters.  The Golf Classic raises funds to benefit the Anaheim Ducks Foundation.

New to this season’s event, the Anaheim Ducks Golf Classic presented by Honda began with a pre-shotgun breakfast program where sponsors had the opportunity to draft the Anaheim Ducks player that joined their foursome for the round of golf. The first round selection of the draft was Teemu Selanne followed by Ryan Getzlaf in the number two spot and Dan Sexton as the third overall pick.  The breakfast program also included a live and silent auction, full of great items consisting of Ducks and sports memorabilia, ticket packages, golf experiences and travel packages.

The Golf Classic featured exciting course competitions such as the longest drive, accurate drive, closest to the pin, and guests enjoyed a variety of food on the course courtesy of Aramark, Joey’s Smokin’ BBQ, Morton’s Anaheim, Oggi’s Pizza and Brewing Co. and Good Humor. Also on the course, guests enjoyed Gentleman Jack from the Jack Daniel’s girls, Miller products courtesy of MillerCoors and Pepsi and Aquafina donated by Pepsi.  

The event concluded with a cocktail reception where winners of the Golf Classic were recognized for their great round of golf with prizes, awards and the Golf Classic Orange Blazer.  The winning foursome for the second annual year was Irvine Valley Air Conditioning who were accompanied by Anaheim Ducks player Brett Festerling. The event was a great success, raising approximately $75,000 for the Anaheim Ducks Foundation.
