Ducks to Host Military Appreciation Night
The Ducks will hold Military Appreciation Night this Wednesday, Nov. 10 when the Ducks take on the New York Islanders at Honda Center (7:05 p.m.). The entire evening will carry a military theme, honoring the men and women in uniform who have served the United States. The Ducks donated 1,000 tickets for Wednesday’s game to nonprofit organizations Operation Homefront, the Green Beret Foundation and the Veteran Tickets Foundation so that military families can attend free-of-charge.

“We look forward to hosting military families at next Wednesday’s game and are proud to partner with Operation Homefront, the Green Beret Foundation and the Veteran Tickets Foundation in making this evening possible,” said Ducks Director of Community Relations Wendy Yamagishi. “While it’s only a small token of gratitude, we hope that attending a Ducks game can provide a fun and relaxing atmosphere for both veterans and active duty servicemen and women.”

In honor of the night, fans are encouraged to send in photos or videos of their family and/or friends in the military showing their dedication to the Ducks. Click here to submit photos or videos.

Upon entrance to Honda Center, the first 3,000 fans will receive small American flags to display their patriotism. In addition, Ducks coaches, executive management, broadcasters, staff and ushers will sport camouflage ribbons in support of the evening. As the Ducks take to the ice for pre-game warm-ups at 6:30 p.m., each player will wear a camouflage jersey. Select player jerseys will then be available for bidding during the game at a silent auction table located at Fan Relations near Section 214. Proceeds from the silent auction, as well as the remaining player camouflage jerseys that will be auctioned online at AnaheimDucks.com, will benefit both Operation Homefront and the Green Beret Foundation.

In addition, fans in attendance at Wednesday’s game can donate Wild Wingers Kids Club kits to military families, which will be available for purchase at Fan Relations (Section 214) and online at www.wildwingerskidsclub.com. For $25, military children will have a complimentary membership to the ‘coolest club on ice’ and receive a Kids Club kit that features Ducks-branded items, discounts to local shops and attractions, and tickets to team parties. Military members that are in attendance on Wednesday can present a military identification badge at Section 214 and redeem for a Kids Club Kit.

Many other in-game elements with a military theme have been incorporated into the evening, including a special “future soldier” swear-in ceremony during the first intermission for 20 new recruits of the U.S. Army. The Ducks will also recognize all armed forces members in the arena during a pre-game ceremony in which the club will present the Community Hero Award to a member of the Green Beret Foundation. Ducks Mascot Wild Wing will wear a camouflage jersey throughout the evening, while the Power Players will wear camouflage t-shirts.

The Ducks are also offering a ticket promotion for Wednesday’s game where fans can receive $10 off each ticket purchased with a military identification card at the box office (no ticket limit, excludes terrace value).
