The Ducks have signed right wing Dan Sexton to a two-year contract. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.

Sexton, 24 (4/29/87), appeared in a career-high 47 games with Anaheim last season, scoring 4-9=13 points with four penalty minutes (PIM) while averaging 11:35 time-on-ice. He recorded a season-high three-game point streak (1-2=3) from Nov. 21-27, including his first goal of the season on Nov. 26 vs. Chicago. The Apple Valley, MN native made his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut in Anaheim’s 2011 Western Conference Quarterfinal Series vs. Nashville, going scoreless with two PIM in Game 6 on Apr. 24 at Bridgestone Arena. Sexton also appeared in 17 games for Syracuse of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2010-11, scoring 9-8=17 points with four PIM. He recorded points in 11 of his 17 games with the Crunch, averaging a point-per-game (1.00).

Signed as a free agent on Apr. 7, 2009, Sexton made his NHL debut with Anaheim in 2009-10. He collected 9-10=19 points with 16 PIM in 41 games, leading all Ducks rookies in assists and points. Among NHL rookies, his points-per-game average (.46) was tied for 10th while his 6-5=11 points in the month of December ranked second. The 5-10, 174-pound winger has appeared in 88 career NHL games with Anaheim, earning 13-19=32 points with 20 PIM. He has also played 30 career AHL games with Syracuse and Manitoba (2009-10), scoring 14-15=29 points with a +4 rating and six PIM.
