The Anaheim Ducks have added Irvine Inline to THE RINKS Development Program presented by Honda, which now operates five local skating facilities in Orange and Riverside Counties. Opened in March 1997, the facility formerly known as The 949 Roller Hockey Center will be rebranded as Irvine Inline and a member of THE RINKS. Irvine Inline will join locations in Anaheim (THE RINKS - Anaheim ICE), Westminster (THE RINKS - Westminster ICE), Corona (THE RINKS - Corona Inline) and Huntington Beach (THE RINKS - Huntington Beach Inline). The Anaheim Ducks originally launched THE RINKS on Feb. 13, 2009.

“We are very pleased to be able to add Irvine Inline to THE RINKS Development Program,” said Vice President of THE RINKS Art Trottier. “The rink has been at capacity for several years and we look forward to helping improve upon the excellent tradition of inline hockey in Irvine.”

Since its inception, Irvine Inline has helped grow the game of hockey in Southern California, focusing on youth divisions and teams to compete nationwide. Through the efforts of its staff and supporters, enrollment has increased 40% over the last five years, leading to one of the largest group of inline teams under a single facility in the Western United States. Irvine Inline will offer youth and adult inline hockey leagues, clinics and learn-to-play camps.
