Ducks Assign Guenin, Maroon to Syracuse

Guenin, 28 (12/10/82), appeared in two contests with Anaheim this season, scoring a goal (1-0=1) with two penalty minutes (PIM) and a +1 rating. The goal was the first of his career in his Ducks debut on Oct. 7 at Buffalo in Helsinki, Finland. The Sewickley, PA native also appeared in five preseason contests for the Ducks, scoring 1-1=2 points with four PIM.
Originally selected by the New York Rangers in the third round (127th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Guenin has appeared in 19 career NHL games with Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Columbus and Anaheim, scoring 1-2=3 points with 10 PIM. He made his NHL debut with Philadelphia on Jan. 18, 2007 vs. the New York Islanders. Guenin is a veteran of 348 career AHL contests, scoring 14-64=78 points with 496 PIM and a +26 rating.
Maroon, 23 (4/23/88), has appeared in two games with Syracuse this season, collecting 2-3=5 points with a +4 rating and two penalty minutes (PIM). He was recalled by Anaheim on Oct. 16 but did not appear in a game with the NHL club. Maroon scored one goal in two preseason games with Anaheim last month.
Selected by Philadelphia in the sixth round (161st overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Maroon has appeared in 216 AHL games with Philadelphia (2007-09), Adirondack (2009-11) and Syracuse (2010-11), scoring 62-97=159 with 287 PIM. The St. Louis, MO native has also appeared in four career Calder Cup Playoff games with the Phantoms, earning 1-2=3 points with 13 PIM.
