Ducks Recall Bonino, Send Down Jacques

Monday, 10.31.2011 / 2:20 PM / News
The Ducks have recalled center Nick Bonino from the Syracuse Crunch, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, the Ducks have reassigned left wing Jean-Francois Jacques to Syracuse.

Bonino, 23 (4/20/88), scored a team-leading 2-9=11 points with a +4 rating in nine games with Syracuse this season. At the time of his recall, Bonino ranked tied for fourth among AHL leaders in assists and second on the Crunch in points-per-game (1.22). The 6-0, 192-pound center opened the season on a four-game scoring streak (1-8=9), including an AHL career-best four assists in a 6-2 victory on Oct. 15 vs. Adirondack.

Selected by San Jose in the sixth round (173rd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Bonino was acquired by Anaheim with Timo Pielmeier in exchange for Kent Huskins and Travis Moen on Mar. 4, 2009. He has appeared in 35 career NHL games with the Ducks, scoring 1-1=2 points with 10 PIM.

Jacques, 26 (4/29/85), has appeared in six contests with Syracuse this season, collecting 3-3=6 points with a +3 rating and two penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-4, 220-pound winger has scored five points (3-2=5) in his last two AHL contests, including a goal and assist in his most recent game on Oct. 28 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Selected by Edmonton in the second round (68th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Jacques has scored 9-8=17 points with 185 PIM in 160 career NHL games. He made his professional debut with the Edmonton Roadrunners (AHL) in 2004-05 and has since appeared in 155 career AHL games, earning 49-57=106 points with 282 PIM.
