Ducks to Host Military Appreciation Night on Friday
The Ducks will honor the United States Armed Forces by hosting Military Appreciation Night this Friday evening (Nov. 11) at Honda Center when the Ducks face Vancouver (7:35 p.m.). Aptly taking place on Veteran’s Day, the club has partnered with four nonprofit organizations to help recognize the men and women in uniform who serve our country: Operation Homefront, Green Beret Foundation, Defending the Blueline and Military Warriors Support Foundation. As a tribute to the military, the Anaheim Ducks will wear special camouflage jerseys during warm-ups and play with sticks wrapped in camouflage hockey tape, both of which will be auctioned in-game on Friday (near Sections 213 & 214) and through an online auction after the game at AnaheimDucks.com. All proceeds will benefit the evening’s featured military nonprofit organizations.

All fans attending Friday’s game will receive a mini-American flag presented by Jack Daniel’s upon entering Honda Center. Nearly all in-game elements will carry a military theme, including the recognition of all armed forces in attendance during the third period of Friday’s contest. The night’s Community Hero recipient, anthem singer, color guard, puck drop representative and Honorary Duck all have a special connection with the U.S. military. Fans are encouraged to remain in their seats during the first intermission for a very special on-ice presentation honoring three local military families. Four Special Forces soldiers will join Wild Wing to make a daring rappel from the arena ceiling prior to puck drop. In addition, fans can get an up-close view of three military vehicles, which will be parked outside Honda Center’s south entrance.

The Ducks have donated tickets for Friday’s game to all four participating nonprofits, as well as the Veteran Tickets Foundation so that a selection of military families can attend free-of-charge. In addition, the club will offer a special $10 discount on tickets to Friday’s game for military personnel who present an ID badge at the Honda Center Box Office (no ticket limit, excludes terrace value). While at the game, military families are encouraged to stop by Section 214 to pick up a free Wild Wingers Kids Club kit (available to all children of military families (age 18-and-under) when a proper military ID badge is presented). The Kids Club kits features Ducks-branded items, discounts to local shops and attractions, and tickets to team parties. Fans can donate Kids Club kits to military families ($25 each) anytime between now and Friday’s game at www.wildwingerskidsclub.com or in person at Section 214 on both Wednesday (Nov. 9 vs. Nashville) and Friday.

Friday’s game vs. Vancouver will also mark the second of four pucks being offered in this season’s limited-edition “Surprise Puck” set. The special Military Appreciation Night puck will cost $30 with all proceeds benefiting the Anaheim Ducks Foundation. Each puck is autographed by a Ducks player and 23 lucky fans will draw at random a “surprise” player-autographed orange puck and receive a camouflage practice jersey autographed by that same player. The remaining two pucks of the series will be sold on Feb. 1 vs. Dallas (All-Star puck) and Apr. 1 vs. Edmonton (Fan Appreciation puck). Friday’s “Surprise Puck” sale will take place at Section 213 beginning at 6 p.m., while supplies last.

Tickets to Military Appreciation Night can be purchased online at AnaheimDucks.com, by phone with Ticketmaster at (714) 703-2545 or in person at the Honda Center Box Office. As part of the club’s new “all-in pricing,” fans purchasing tickets direct from the Anaheim Ducks (AnaheimDucks.com, Ticketmaster or Honda Center Box Office) will pay the identical price regardless of purchase point.

PARTICIPATING NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS:

Defending the Blue Line
Defending The Blue Line is ensuring that children of military members are afforded every opportunity to participate in the game of hockey. We accomplish this by providing free equipment for military kids, hockey camps, special events, and financial assistance for registration fees and other costs associated with hockey.

Operation Homefront
Operation Homefront provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors.  Through generous, widespread public support and a collaborative team of exceptional staff and volunteers, we aspire to become the provider of choice for emergency financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors. Where there is a need we do not provide, we will partner with others for the benefit of our military families.

Military Warriors Support Foundation
Military Warriors Support Foundation awards mortgage-free homes to wounded heroes injured during combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. The homes are for families who have severe and/or unique circumstances due to their injuries received while serving our country. In addition to the home, the families will receive three years of family and financial mentoring.

Green Beret Foundation
The Green Beret Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c) 3 foundation that provides financial resources, immediate need supplies, caregiver assistance, and educational scholarships to wounded or ill Army Special Forces warriors and their families.
