The Ducks have acquired center Rod Pelley, defenseman Mark Fraser and a seventh-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for defenseman Kurtis Foster and goaltender Timo Pielmeier.

Pelley, 27 (9/1/84), has appeared in 211 career NHL games with New Jersey, collecting 7-19=26 points with 93 penalty minutes (PIM). Pelley established a career high by appearing in 74 games last season, including his 200th career NHL contest on Mar. 30, 2011 vs. the New York Islanders. The 5-11, 200-pound center scored 3-7=10 points in 2010-11, matching a career high in points and establishing a season best in goals. Signed by New Jersey as a free agent on July 17, 2006, Pelley has appeared in seven games with New Jersey this season, going scoreless with seven PIM.

Fraser, 25 (9/29/86), has played 98 career NHL contests with the Devils, earning 3-5=8 points with an even plus/minus rating and 86 PIM. He made his NHL debut with New Jersey during the 2006-07 season and went on to set career highs in goals, assists, points (3-3=6) and appearances (61) in 2009-10. Selected by New Jersey in the third round (84th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Fraser has gone scoreless in four games this season.

Foster, 30 (11/24/81), collected 1-1=2 points with eight PIM in nine games with Anaheim this season. He scored his first goal as a Duck in his Anaheim debut on Oct. 23 vs. Phoenix and added his first assist on Nov. 17 vs. Los Angeles. Acquired from Edmonton in exchange for Andy Sutton on July 1, 2011, Foster has played nine NHL seasons with Atlanta (2002-04), Minnesota (2005-09), Tampa Bay (2009-10), Edmonton (2010-11) and Anaheim (2011-12). In 340 career NHL games, the 6-5, 221-pound defenseman has scored 38-105=143 points with 256 PIM.

Pielmeier, 22 (7/7/89), appeared in 10 games with Elmira (ECHL) this season, posting a 4-5-0 record with a 3.45 goals-against average (GAA) and .896 save percentage (SV%). Pielmeier made his NHL debut with Anaheim last season, stopping 7-of-12 shots in relief of Curtis McElhinney on Feb. 19, 2011 at St. Louis. Acquired from San Jose with Nick Bonino in exchange for Kent Huskins and Travis Moen on Mar. 4, 2009, Pielmeier has gone 16-17-1 with a 3.09 GAA and .906 GAA in 37 career American Hockey League (AHL) games.
