Tuesday, 01.17.2012 / 1:23 PM / News
The Ducks have reassigned right wing Kyle Palmieri and defenseman Kyle Cumiskey to the Syracuse Crunch, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Palmieri
Palmieri, 20 (2/1/91), appeared in 10 games with the Ducks this season, scoring 1-1=2 points with two penalty minutes (PIM). Palmieri has also played 23 games with Syracuse in 2011-12, scoring 21-10=31 points with a +15 rating and 23 PIM. Named to the 2012 AHL Eastern Conference All-Star Classic roster for the second straight season on Jan. 4, Palmieri is currently tied for second among AHL leaders in goals and tied for the league lead in game-winning goals (5). Among team leaders, the 5-11, 196-pound winger ranks first in plus/minus, second in points and tied for third in power play goals (3).

Selected by Anaheim in the first round (26th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Palmieri made his NHL debut with the Ducks last season. At 19 years, nine months and two days, Palmieri was then the fifth-youngest player in club history to appear in a game on Nov. 3, 2010 vs. Tampa Bay. The 5-11, 196-pound winger has appeared in 20 career NHL games with Anaheim, collecting 2-1=3 points with two PIM.

Cumiskey
Cumiskey, 25 (12/2/86), did not make an appearance with Anaheim following his recall from Syracuse on Jan. 9. He has played 29 contests with the Crunch this season, scoring 2-12=14 points with 18 PIM. Among Syracuse defensemen, the Abbotsford, British Columbia native ranks third in scoring. Cumiskey was acquired from Colorado in exchange for Jake Newton and a seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft on Oct. 8, 2011.

In 2010-11, Cumiskey appeared in 18 contests with Colorado, earning 1-7=8 points with 10 PIM. The 5-10, 185-pound blueliner appeared in a career-high 61 contests with the Avalanche in 2009-10, earning 7-13=20 points. Cumiskey led team defensemen in goals that season, notching a career-high two goals on Jan. 18, 2010 vs. Edmonton. In 132 career NHL contests, Cumiskey has collected 9-26=35 points with 48 PIM.
