Ducks Notes Going Into Three-Game Homestand

TOMORROW'S GAME: The Anaheim Ducks (15-22-7, 37 pts.) open a three-game homestand tomorrow vs. the Phoenix Coyotes at Honda Center (7:05 p.m. PST, PRIME TICKET/AM 830)...the Ducks have earned points in six consecutive games (5-0-1), the longest standings point streak since a seven-game streak from Nov. 3-14, 2010 (6-0-1)...the Ducks have scored 25 goals in those six games, the club’s largest six-game goal output since Feb. 2-16, 2011 (also 25)...six players have recorded at least six points during the streak: Saku Koivu (4-4=8, +6), Corey Perry (5-2=7, +4), Teemu Selanne (4-3=7, +5), Bobby Ryan (4-3=7, +3), Ryan Getzlaf (1-5=6, +3) and Jason Blake (3-3=6, +3)...Anaheim has scored a total of 26 goals in seven games this month (3.71 per game), second only to Boston's 29 goals in seven games (4.14 per game)...over the last nine contests, the Ducks have allowed just three power play goals, stopping 26 of the last 29 attempts (89.7%)...dating back to the second period on Dec. 19 at Dallas, the club has gone 28-for-31 on the penalty kill (90.3%)...on the power play, the Ducks have converted on five of their last 16 attempts for a 31.3 percent success rate in the last five games...following tomorrow's contest, the club will host a rare set of back-to-back home games this weekend with Ottawa on Saturday, Jan. 21 and Colorado on Sunday, Jan. 22...the back-to-back games will mark Anaheim's final home dates in January...the Ducks will also play in Dallas on Jan. 24 prior to the 2012 All-Star break.

DUCKS-COYOTES:
Tomorrow marks the fourth of six contests against division rival Phoenix…all-time, the Ducks are 54-30-14 against the Coyotes, including a 30-14-7 mark at Honda Center...Anaheim is 1-2-0 vs. Phoenix this season (a 4-1 win on Dec. 14 and 5-4 loss on Oct. 23 at Honda Center, and a 4-2 defeat on Nov. 23 at Jobing.com Arena)...Ryan Getzlaf (2-2=4) and Corey Perry (1-3=4) co-lead the Ducks in scoring vs. the Coyotes this season.

Perry
PERRY NAMED TO 2012 ALL-STAR WEEKEND: On Jan. 12, the NHL named Corey Perry to the 2012 NHL All-Star Weekend, taking place in Ottawa, Ontario from Jan. 26-29...the 2010-11 Hart Trophy winner will make his third career All-Star appearance (also 2008 & 2011)...Perry has scored a team-leading 20 goals and ranks second on the Ducks in points with 20-17=37 in 44 games...Perry, who recorded his fourth career hat trick on Jan. 8 vs. Columbus, has scored six goals in his last seven games (6-2=8, +4) and has 14-12=26 points over the last 27...in addition, Perry ranks second among NHL leaders in PPG (10) and tied for 10th in goals.

HILLER'S HOT STREAK: Over the last three games, Jonas Hiller has stopped 72-of-75 shots for a .960 SV% and a 0.99 GAA (3 GA/182 MIN)...he recorded his 13th career shutout (second of season) and 100th career win in a 5-0 victory on Jan. 13 at Edmonton...the 5-0 shutout helped Hiller to extend his shutout streak at Edmonton to 131:08 (since 12/7/10)...in Hiller's last five outings, he has posted a 3-0-1 record with a 1.38 GAA and .939 SV%.

Koivu
KOIVU NETS SECOND CAREER HAT TRICK: On Jan. 10 vs. Dallas, Saku Koivu scored the second hat trick of his 16-year career...it had been over nine years since Koivu had scored his first hat trick on Nov. 18, 2002 with Montreal vs. Pittsburgh in a 5-4 Canadiens OT win...over the last four contests, Koivu has scored 4-3=7 points and has notched 4-6=10 points with a +7 rating in his eight games since returning from a groin injury (missed eight games from Dec. 10-29).

PLAYER NOTABLES

- Ryan Getzlaf netted his sixth career four-plus assist night on Jan. 13 at Edmonton (0-4=4)...he has scored 1-5=6 points in six games and 3-19=22 points over his last 27...he had a seven-game point/assist streak (1-9=10) from Nov. 16-30...the assist streak is the longest in the NHL this season.

Selanne
- Teemu Selanne played in his 1,300th NHL game on Jan. 10 vs. Dallas, becoming the 52nd player all-time, ninth European-born player, second Finnish-born player (T. Numminen), 36th forward, and ninth right wing to reach the milestone…he was the fourth active player to reach 1,300 games, following N. Lidstrom (DET), R. Hamrlik (WSH) and J. Jagr (PHI)...Selanne, who ranks tied for 14th in the NHL in scoring, has scored 4-3=7 points with a +5 rating over the last six games and leads the Ducks with 15-28=43 points this season, averaging .98 points-per-game...Selanne had a nine-game point streak (3-10=13) from Dec. 2-19, tied for the second-longest streak in the NHL this season...Selanne's streak was the longest in NHL history by a player age 41-or-older.

- Bobby Ryan has scored 4-3=7 points in the last six contests, including points in the last two straight (2-1=3)...Ryan, who scored the second SHG of his career on Jan. 6 vs. the Islanders, has scored 7-4=11 points in the last 10 games.

Blake
- Lubomir Visnovsky has earned 3-5=8 points over the last 12 games...Luca Sbisa is on a two-game point streak (0-2=2) and has scored 2-6=8 points in the last 10 games, while Francois Beauchemin has picked up 0-4=4 assists over the last five games.

- Jason Blake scored 2-1=3 points in a 4-2 win Jan. 15 at Vancouver, marking his first three-plus point game since Mar. 31, 2010 at Colorado (1-4=5)...Blake enters tomorrow's contest on a two-game scoring streak (3-1=4) with a +4 rating.

IRON MEN: Andrew Cogliano currently ranks fourth on the NHL's active iron man list, having played in 372 consecutive games (two behind CGY's Iginla)...Cogliano has never missed an NHL game in his career (made his debut with Edmonton on Oct. 4, 2007)...Calgary's Jay Bouwmeester ranks first on the active iron man list (552 straight games), while Vancouver's Henrik Sedin ranks second with 545 and Calgary's Jarome Iginla is third with 374...Corey Perry currently ranks sixth on the list at 247 consecutive games, a streak that dates back to Jan. 11, 2009.

SCHULTZ TOP DEFENSEMAN IN NCAA:  Ducks prospect Justin Schultz ranks tied for sixth among all NCAA Division I players in scoring and assists with 11-21=32 points in 22 contests...Schultz, a junior playing for the Wisconsin Badgers, is the only defenseman ranked in the top 15 among all NCAA scorers this season...Schultz leads Wisconsin in goals, points and power play goals (5), and ranks second in assists...the second-round selection (48th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft has 101 career points with Wisconsin, becoming the first Badger defenseman to collect at least 100 since Brian Rafalski did so in 1994-95.

ONE MORE YEAR: 41-year-old RW Teemu Selanne is in the midst of his 20th NHL season and 13th with the Ducks...in 1,303 career NHL games with Winnipeg, Anaheim, San Jose and Colorado, Selanne has earned 652-731=1,383 points...he currently ranks 13th on the NHL’s all-time goal scoring list (second among active players; Jagr), 45th in assists (fourth among active players), and 22nd in points (third among active players)...in 818 career contests with Anaheim, Selanne has scored 425-489=914 points with 419 PIM and a +126 rating...he is the club's all-time leader in goals, points, assists, games played, plus/minus, PPG (170), PPP (384), GWG (69), shots (2,673) and OT goals (6)...since competing in his first game with the Ducks on Feb. 10, 1996, Selanne has become the fifth-fastest player to reach 900 points with one NHL club in that time (Iginla (CGY), 1,042; Alfredsson (OTT), 1,015; Sakic (COL), 934; Selanne (ANA), 914 & Lidstrom (DET), 910)…not factored in are Selanne’s 80-83=163 points in 254 games with San Jose and Colorado within that time period since 1996 (stats courtesy Elias Sports Bureau).
