Ducks Reassign Palmieri to Syracuse

Palmieri, 20 (2/1/91), has appeared in 10 games with the Ducks this season, scoring 1-1=2 points with two penalty minutes (PIM). In 23 games with Syracuse in 2011-12, the Smithtown, NY native has 21-10=31 points with a +15 rating and 23 PIM. Named to the 2012 AHL Eastern Conference All-Star Classic roster for the second straight season on Jan. 4, Palmieri is currently tied for third among AHL leaders in goals and tied for second in game-winning goals (5). Among team leaders, the 5-11, 196-pound winger ranks first in goals, tied for first in plus/minus, second in points and tied for third in power play goals (3).
Selected by Anaheim in the first round (26th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Palmieri made his NHL debut with the Ducks in 2010-11. At 19 years, nine months and two days, Palmieri was then the fifth-youngest player in club history to appear in a game on Nov. 3, 2010 vs. Tampa Bay. He has appeared in 20 career NHL games with Anaheim, collecting 2-1=3 points with two PIM.
