Ducks Conclude Homestand Wednesday as Selanne Climbs Up Record Charts
TOMORROW’S GAME: The Anaheim Ducks (20-24-8, 48 pts.) conclude a four-game homestand tomorrow against the Carolina Hurricanes at Honda Center (7:05 p.m., PRIME TICKET/AM 830)...the Ducks have earned points in 12 of their last 14 contests (10-2-2) and have won seven of the last 10 games, outscoring their opponents by a score of 31-19...Anaheim has faced only two other Southeast Division opponents this season: Nov. 1 at Washington (5-4 OTL) and Dec. 17 at Winnipeg (5-3 L)...tomorrow's game represents Anaheim's last home game until Feb. 26 vs. Chicago...following Wednesday’s contest, the Ducks will embark on a season-high eight-game, 15-day road trip that makes stops in Detroit (Friday, Feb. 10, 4:30 p.m. PT), Columbus (Feb. 12), Minnesota (Feb. 14), Pittsburgh (Feb. 15), New Jersey (Feb. 17), Florida (Feb. 19), Tampa Bay (Feb. 21) and Carolina (Feb. 23).

CLIMBING THE CHARTS: Teemu Selanne enters tomorrow’s game within distance of tying or surpassing a three-time Stanley Cup champion and several NHL Hall-of-Famers on several NHL all-time record lists…Selanne is only one goal shy of matching Brendan Shanahan (656) for 12th in all-time goals and one point from tying Brett Hull (1,391) for 21st in all-time scoring…with four points, Selanne will tie Luc Robitaille (1,394) for 20th in all-time points…in 1,311 career NHL games with Winnipeg, Anaheim, San Jose and Colorado, Selanne has earned 655-735=1,390 points...he currently ranks 13th on the NHL’s all-time goal scoring list (second among active players; Jagr), 43rd in assists (fourth among active players), and 22nd in points (third among active players)...last night vs. Calgary, Selanne recorded his 735th career assist to surpass Bernie Nicholls for sole possession of 43rd place on the all-time assist list...he is now only four assists shy of matching Norm Ullman (739) for 42nd…in 826 career contests with Anaheim, Selanne has scored 428-493=921 points with 421 PIM and a +128 rating...he is the club's all-time leader in goals, points, assists, games played, plus/minus, PPG (172), PPP (387), GWG (69), shots (2,690) and OT goals (6).

DUCKS-HURRICANES:
Anaheim and Carolina open a two-game season series tomorrow at Honda Center...the Ducks own a 10-12-2 record vs. the Hurricanes, including a 6-5-1 record in Anaheim...the Ducks earned their 300th franchise home win in the Hurricanes' last visit to Honda Center on Nov. 25, 2009, a 3-2 victory for Anaheim...in 2010-11, Carolina earned a 4-2 win on Dec. 18 at the RBC Center in the lone meeting of the season...Saku Koivu leads all Anaheim skaters in career scoring vs. Carolina, earning 8-18=26 points in 44 games...the season series will conclude on Feb. 23 at the RBC Center, marking Anaheim's final game of its upcoming season-long eight-game road trip

SPECIAL TEAMS: Over the last 19 contests, the Ducks have allowed only seven power play goals, stopping 46 of the last 53 attempts (86.8%)...on the power play, the Ducks have converted seven of their last 32 attempts (21.9%) in the last games.

Cogliano
COGLIANO'S CAREER NIGHT: Andrew Cogliano scored his first career hat trick on Jan. 31 at Phoenix, netting his three goals only 6:51 apart in the second period (6:59, 10:01 and 13:50)…it was the fifth natural hat trick in club history, the second-fastest hat trick scored by a Ducks and the fourth time an Anaheim player scored three goals in a single period...the hat trick was the 37th in club history and Cogliano became the 13th different player to record a hat trick as a Duck...he has collected 3-3=6 points with a +4 rating in the last nine contests.

PERRY'S ALL-STAR WEEKEND: Corey Perry, the 2010-11 Hart Trophy winner, appeared in his third career All-Star weekend Jan. 26-29 in Ottawa, Ontario...a member of Team Chara, Perry recorded 1-1=2 points with a +1 rating in the 12-9 victory over Team Alfredsson...Perry has scored a team-leading 22 goals and ranks second on the Ducks in points with 22-18=40 in 52 games...he has four goals in the last 10 games (4-1=5), eight goals in his last 15 (8-3=11, +5), and has 16-13=29 points in the last 34 contests...in addition, Perry ranks tied for third among NHL leaders in PPG (10) and tied for 12th in goals.

Hiller
- Over the last 11 games (7-2-2), Jonas Hiller has stopped 273-of-293 shots for a .929 SV% and a 1.88 GAA (21 GA/669 MIN), winning seven of the last 10 contests.
- Teemu Selanne has points in four straight games (3-2=5) and scored 7-7=14 points with a +5 rating over the last 14...Selanne leads the Ducks with 18-32=50 points this season, averaging .96 points-per-game.
- Ryan Getzlaf has scored 1-8=9 points in 10 games and 4-23=27 points over his last 35.
- Bobby Ryan has scored 7-4=11 points in the last 14 contests...he also has 10-5=15 points in the last 18 games.
- Francois Beauchemin, who has 2-5=7 points over the last 13 games, is on pace for 29 points this season, his highest output since scoring 35 in 2005-06 with Anaheim and Columbus...Beauchemin currently ranks tied for sixth in the NHL in avg. TOI (26:01).

PROSPECT WATCH: Defenseman Justin Schultz ranks tied for seventh among all NCAA Division I players in scoring and tied for fifth in assists with 12-26=38 points in 28 contests...Schultz, a junior playing for the Wisconsin Badgers, is the only defenseman ranked in the top 25 among all NCAA scorers this season...Schultz leads Wisconsin in goals and ranks second in points, assists and power play goals (5)...the second-round selection (48th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft has 105 career points with Wisconsin, becoming the first Badger defenseman to collect at least 100 since Brian Rafalski did so in 1994-95…in the WHL, right wing Emerson Etem has scored 48-37=85 points in 47 games with Medicine Hat…Etem currently leads the WHL in goals, shorthanded goals (10) and game-winning goals (9), ranks fourth in scoring and tied for sixth in power play goals (6)…Etem is riding a 15-game scoring streak (20-7=27) since Dec. 10, the fourth-longest point streak in the WHL this season…with Syracuse, right wing Kyle Palmieri co-leads the AHL in goals, despite playing 20 fewer games than his co-leader Cory Conacher (Norfolk)…Palmieri, who has netted 25-13=38 points in 27 games with the Crunch, also co-leads the AHL in game-winning goals (6) and tied for ninth in plus/minus (+15)…an AHL Eastern Conference All-Star, Palmieri also ranks second on Syracuse in scoring...left wing Patrick Maroon ranks seventh in AHL scoring and tied for fourth in goals with 22-26=48 points in 43 games…among team leaders, Maroon leads in scoring, assists and power play goals (9)…center Peter Holland ranks third on the Crunch in goals and scoring (16-18=34) in 40 games…Holland, who has 12-16=28 points in his last 28 contests, ranks tied for fifth among AHL rookies in goals and eighth in scoring…in the OHL, Rickard Rakell has scored 25-24=49 points with a +11 rating in 43 games with Plymouth, ranking tied for second among team leaders in goals.
