In celebration of USA Hockey’s Hockey Weekend Across America presented by Reebok, the Ducks will host “Try Hockey for Free Day” this Saturday, Feb. 18 at THE RINKS – Westminster ICE. From 2:10-3:10 p.m., children ages 4-9 can participate in the Ducks’ newly designed Learn to Play Program presented by Reebok.

The Anaheim Ducks’ Learn to Play Program offers first-time hockey players the opportunity to learn to play for free. Participants will receive instruction on the basics of hockey as well as learn how to skate properly during the four-week program held at four of the five RINKS locations, including Westminster ICE, Corona Inline, Huntington Beach Inline and Irvine Inline. Saturday’s “Try Hockey for Free Day” coincides with the third week of the current four-week session being offered at Westminster ICE. All participants will be provided with protective equipment, including a helmet and gloves.

Hockey Weekend Across America (Feb. 17-19), was introduced five years ago by USA Hockey to celebrate the game and those involved at all levels, while exposing hockey to new audiences. In celebration of the weekend, NBC Sports Group will provide nine hours of coverage on NBC and the NBC Sports Network this Sunday as part of Hockey Day in America Presented by McDonald’s.

In addition to youth and adult hockey programs, Anaheim ICE and Westminster ICE offer figure skating, a learn-to-skate program, broomball, curling and public skating.
