Ducks Recall Cumiskey, Reassign Guenin

The Ducks have recalled defenseman Kyle Cumiskey from the Syracuse Crunch, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). At the same time, the Ducks have reassigned defenseman Nate Guenin to Syracuse.
 
Cumiskey
Cumiskey, 25 (12/2/86), appeared in 36 contests with the Crunch this season, scoring 2-14=16 points with 22 penalty minutes (PIM). Among Syracuse defensemen, the Abbotsford, British Columbia native currently ranks second in scoring. He registered a career-tying three assists (0-3=3) on Dec. 31 at Binghamton to help lead the Crunch to a 6-2 victory. Acquired from Colorado in exchange for Jake Newton and a seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft on Oct. 8, 2011, Cumiskey was previously recalled from Syracuse on Jan. 9 (reassigned on Jan. 17), but did not appear in a game for Anaheim.
 
In 2010-11, Cumiskey appeared in 18 contests with Colorado, earning 1-7=8 points with 10 PIM. The 5-10, 185-pound blueliner played a career-high 61 contests with the Avalanche in 2009-10, earning 7-13=20 points. In 132 career NHL games, Cumiskey has earned 9-26=35 points with 48 PIM. Selected by Colorado in the seventh round (222nd overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Cumiskey has also appeared in 132 career AHL contests, scoring 15-53=68 points with 74 PIM.
 
Guenin
Guenin, 29 (12/10/82), appeared in 10 contests with Anaheim this season, scoring one goal (1-0=1) with a +1 rating and six PIM. Acquired from Columbus in exchange for Trevor Smith on Jan. 4, 2011, Guenin has also played 23 games for Syracuse this year, collecting 0-4=4 points with 14 PIM.
 
Originally selected by the New York Rangers in the fourth round (127th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Guenin has appeared in 27 career NHL games with Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Columbus and Anaheim, scoring 1-2=3 points with 14 PIM. In 371 career AHL games, Guenin has collected 14-68=82 points with a +21 rating and 510 PIM.
