Ducks Acquire Winger Mitchell from Toronto for Fraser

Mitchell, 22 (4/9/89), has appeared in 60 career American Hockey League (AHL) contests with the Toronto Marlies, scoring 7-9=16 points with 33 penalty minutes (PIM) and a +3 rating. He played in two contests with the Marlies this season, going scoreless with two PIM. In addition, the 5-9, 200-pound winger has appeared in 35 contests with Reading (ECHL) this season, collecting 16-15=31 points with 47 PIM and a +5 rating. Among team leaders, Mitchell ranked tied for second in goals.
Selected by Toronto in the third round (74th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Mitchell is a two-time Memorial Cup winner with the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in both 2009 and 2010. In 293 career OHL games, Mitchell notched 136-158=294 points with 354 PIM and a +44 rating. In 2008-09, the Etobicoke, Ontario native ranked second in goals (14) and third in points (29) on the Spitfires in playoff scoring en route to his first of two Memorial Cup championships (5-1=6 points in six Memorial Cup games). He played alongside Ducks 2010 first-round pick Cam Fowler and 2010 first overall pick Taylor Hall (Edmonton) during the 2010 Memorial Cup run, picking up 3-3=6 points in four tournament games, as well as 7-10=17 points in 19 OHL playoff games.
Fraser, 25 (9/29/86), appeared in 25 contests with Syracuse this season (Anaheim’s AHL affiliate), scoring 0-5=5 points with 35 PIM. Acquired with Rod Pelley and a seventh-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft from New Jersey in exchange for Kurtis Foster and Timo Pielmeier on Dec. 12, 2011, Fraser has played in 98 career NHL contests with the Devils, earning 3-5=8 points and 86 PIM.
