Ducks to Host CHOC Night this Sunday vs. Nashville

Thursday, 03.15.2012 / 12:59 PM / News
The Ducks will raise funds and awareness for Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children’s) by hosting CHOC Night this Sunday, Mar. 18 when the club faces the Nashville Predators at Honda Center (5:05 p.m.). Ducks fans are invited to participate in CHOC Night in a variety of ways, including a ‘text to donate’ campaign and through the sale of CHOCO Bears. In addition, all 44 dasher boards that surround Honda Center’s ice have been donated and branded with CHOC Children’s signage for the third consecutive year. All proceeds throughout the evening will support the CHOC Children’s state-of-the-art tower, set to open in Spring 2013.

Sunday’s CHOC Night celebrates a six-year partnership between the Anaheim Ducks and CHOC Children’s. Fans attending or watching Sunday’s PRIME TICKET telecast can donate to CHOC Children’s in a number of ways. By texting “CHOC” to “90999,” a $5 donation will be made to the hospital. In addition, Pepsi Max will make contributions on texting donations throughout the evening. The popular CHOCO Bear will be available for purchase once again this year and will be sold for $60 at both The Hockey Spot (weather permitting on North side of the building in the parking lot) and at Section 209 during the game. Every CHOCO Bear sports an Anaheim Ducks jersey and is autographed by a member of the team (available while supplies last). Lastly, SmileGeneration.com will make a donation to CHOC Children’s for every Ducks goal scored throughout the night.

All 44 dasher boards around the rink will carry CHOC Children’s signage. A complete list of participating corporate partners is included below. CenSource and 3M donated the materials and production for each of the 44 CHOC dasher boards. During the game, CHOC patients and staff will have the opportunity to participate in game elements such as riding the Zamboni and on-ice intermission competitions. Additionally, CHOC doctors will take part in television and radio interviews, raising awareness for the exceptional pediatric care that CHOC Children’s provides.

Discounted tickets to Sunday’s game can be purchased online at www.choc.org/events or by calling the CHOC Children’s Foundation at (714) 532-8690.
