Beauchemin Has Successful Shoulder Surgery

The 31-year-old recently completed his eighth season in the NHL, six which have come with Anaheim. Beauchemin tied a career high with eight goals, to go along with 22 points in 82 games played. He also led the Ducks in average time on ice at 25:33 per game (ranking eighth overall in the league). Anaheim inked the veteran blueliner to a three-year contract extension on Jan. 20.

Last week fellow defenseman Toni Lydman had successful surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left knee and is expected to have a four-week recovery time.
The 34-year-old Lydman played with a torn meniscus for much of the season and missed games in March and April with a neck injury. Lydman had no goals and 13 assists in 74 games.
