Beauchemin

Francois Beauchemin had successful surgery on Thursday, April 19, to repair his right shoulder (labrum tear). The surgery was performed by Dr. Ronald Glousman in Los Angeles. The defenseman is expected to make a full recovery and be 100 percent in approximately four months.

The 31-year-old recently completed his eighth season in the NHL, six which have come with Anaheim. Beauchemin tied a career high with eight goals, to go along with 22 points in 82 games played. He also led the Ducks in average time on ice at 25:33 per game (ranking eighth overall in the league). Anaheim inked the veteran blueliner to a three-year contract extension on Jan. 20.

Lydman

Last week fellow defenseman Toni Lydman had successful surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left knee and is expected to have a four-week recovery time.

The 34-year-old Lydman played with a torn meniscus for much of the season and missed games in March and April with a neck injury. Lydman had no goals and 13 assists in 74 games.
